- ARS Architectural Design office, in response to a Developer’s wishes to develop a piece of property centrally located in a high end neighborhood of central Tokyo, designed two residential structures based on Heavy Timber Wood Frame structures developed by Y.K. BL Corporation of Chiba Pref.
- The Heavy Timber Wood Frame structures are based on 8×8 and 10×10 Solid Canada Tsuga Timbers especially imported by BL Corporation from Western Canada. The timbers are air dried for no less than 6 months period at BL Corporation’s yard after importation before they are manufactured into Pre-Cut packages.
- The majority of framing components that complement the Heavy Timber Wood Frame structure are standard JPZ P&B lumber sizes ranging from 45x45mm to 120x120mm.
- In order to satisfy Fire Code regulations effective for the area of the city, all exterior surfaces are finished in non-combustible cladding.
