物件内容:
- An all wood frame structure measuring some 60 tsubo (apx. 190m2) in floor space was donated as part of the Canada Tohoku Reconstruction Assistance Program.
- The structure was designed by Dr. Hiroyuki Sugimoto, Professor of Architecture at the Tokai University in Japan while construction was carried out by Yamaki Kohgyo KK, a local general contractor.
- The structure’s main frame structure is made from the newly developed and JAS certified Canada Tsuga 150×150 Solid KD timbers produced in Iwaki, Fukushima while SPF, OSB, Western Red Cedar siding and decking, Maple Flooring and wood based furniture manufactured in BC is used in significant volume throughout the structure.
- The project was completed in January 2013 and handed over to the operators of the Public Library at an Opening Ceremony attended by the Canadian Ambassador, the Mayor of Natori City and industry representatives from Canada and Japan.
